Terms

What you can expect from Aaroos, and what we ask of you in return. Written so you can actually read it, because an agreement nobody understands protects nobody.

01Overview

This page is the agreement between you and Aaroos. It is binding, so it is written to be understood rather than to be impressive. The summary below is not a substitute for the chapters, but it is honest about what they say.

One intention
Aaroos exists for marriage. Using it for anything else, casual dating included, is a breach of these terms and grounds for removal.
Be who you say you are
One account, your real identity, your own photos, and an honest profile. Verification is how we hold everybody to that.
Treat people properly
Every profile here belongs to somebody hoping to find a spouse. Harassment, pressure, deceit and soliciting money are the fastest ways to lose your account.
We promise a service, not a spouse
We will do our utmost to introduce you well. Nobody can promise a marriage, and we do not.
Cancel when you like
A paid membership runs to the end of the period you paid for and then stops. No notice period, no penalty.

Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and [Registered company name], registered in England and Wales, company number [company number], at [registered office address]. Where this page says we, us or Aaroos, that is who it means.

By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not create an account.

02Eligibility

Aaroos is a deliberately narrow service. Being clear about who it is for is part of what makes it work for them.

  • You are eighteen or over. There are no exceptions and we remove any account we find belonging to a minor.
  • You are joining with a sincere intention of marriage. This is not a formality. It is the single thing every member here has in common and the reason the service is worth using.
  • You are free to marry. If you are currently married, you must not present yourself here as available without being open about your circumstances.
  • You have not previously been removed from Aaroos. A banned member creating a new account is a breach in itself, and we look for it.
  • You can enter a binding contract, and you are not barred from using the service under the law that applies to you.

Where we are open

Aaroos is launching in the United Kingdom, and new accounts can currently only be created from there. We check the country an account is being created from, once, at signup.

This affects joining only. Once you are a member you keep full access wherever you are and wherever you travel, because where somebody lives and where their phone is this week are different things.

Location checks are based on your internet connection and are not perfect. If you are in the UK and were turned away, write to admin@aaroos.com and we will sort it out.

03Your account

Your account is yours to look after, and a few of these obligations exist to protect other members as much as you.

One account each
One person, one account. Multiple accounts distort matching for everybody and are usually a sign of something worse.
Keep it yours
Do not share your password or let anybody else use your account. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
Tell us quickly
If you think somebody else has got into your account, email admin@aaroos.com straight away. Changing your password ends every other session immediately.
Keep it accurate
Your profile should be true when you write it and still true later. Keeping an out-of-date marital status on a matrimonial platform is not an oversight, it is a misrepresentation.
Your username
Chosen once during onboarding and fixed afterwards, because other members come to know you by it.
Family involvement
Many members involve parents or a guardian, and that is welcome. The account must still belong to the person seeking marriage, and they must be the one who agreed to these terms.
04Verification

Verification is the thing that makes Aaroos different from an open platform, and it is not optional for the features that matter.

Before matching, messaging and membership open up, we ask you to complete a face check and submit an identity document. A member of our team reviews every submission and makes the decision. An automated score never decides on its own.

  • Submit your own genuine document and your own face. Submitting somebody else’s, or an altered image, ends the account.
  • If the liveness scan will not run on your device, you can upload three photos instead and we will review them by hand.
  • We may ask you to verify again if something about the account changes or a concern is raised.
  • A verified badge means we checked that a real, identifiable person is behind the account. It is not a character reference, and it is not a warranty about anything that person tells you.

What happens to the images, and how long we keep them, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

05Community

Every profile on Aaroos belongs to somebody hoping to build a life with someone. These rules follow from taking that seriously, and we enforce them.

What is expected

  • Honesty. Your age, your marital status, whether you have children, your work, your practice. People make life decisions on what you write here.
  • Respect. A clear no is an answer. So is silence. Nobody owes you a reply, a photo, a phone number or a meeting.
  • Modesty and courtesy. Keep conversation appropriate to its purpose. If you would not say it in front of the person’s family, it does not belong in a message here.
  • Discretion. What somebody shares with you in a conversation was shared with you, not with your group chat.

What will get your account removed

  • Harassment of any kind. Abuse, threats, intimidation, slurs, or continuing to contact somebody who has made clear they are not interested.
  • Sexual content or advances. Explicit messages, explicit or nude images, and sexual pressure have no place on a platform built for marriage.
  • Asking members for money. No loans, no gifts, no investments, no emergencies, no crypto, no stories. If somebody asks you for money, do not send it, and report them.
  • Deceit. Fake profiles, somebody else’s photos, a false age, concealing a marriage, or pretending to an intention you do not have.
  • Recruiting. Using Aaroos to advertise a business, promote another service, or pull members onto another platform.
  • Scraping and automation. Collecting member data, using bots, or attempting to interfere with how Aaroos works.
  • Sharing private material. Passing on another member’s photos, messages or details without their agreement.
  • Evading a ban. Coming back under a new email or a new identity after being removed.
  • Anything unlawful. Including using the service to pursue somebody who has asked to be left alone.

Meeting somebody in person

Aaroos verifies identity. It cannot vouch for character. When you move from conversation to meeting, meet somewhere public, tell somebody where you are going, and involve your family if that is your way. Take your time. Nobody worth marrying will rush you.

06Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put on Aaroos. We need permission to show it, and that permission is as narrow as it can be.

By posting a photo or writing a profile, you grant us a licence to host, store and display it for the purpose of operating Aaroos: showing it to members you might match with, and to our reviewers where a report or a verification requires it. That is the entire scope. We do not use your photos in advertising, we do not publish them outside Aaroos, and we do not license them to anybody else.

The licence ends when you remove the content or close your account, except where we must retain something to deal with a report or meet a legal obligation.

What you are confirming

  • The content is yours, or you have permission to use it.
  • It does not infringe anybody’s rights, and it does not include another identifiable person who has not agreed to appear.
  • It is not unlawful, and it is appropriate to a matrimonial setting.

We may remove content that breaches these terms, and we may decline a photo that does not meet our standards. We will tell you when we do.

07The service

This chapter matters more than it looks. Being precise about what a matrimonial service can and cannot promise is the difference between confidence and disappointment.

What we do

  • Verify that members are real people who are who they say they are.
  • Compare your profile, your preferences and your questionnaire answers against other members, and show you the most compatible first.
  • Open a conversation when two people have both expressed interest, so nobody receives a message they did not invite.
  • Act on reports, and remove members who breach these terms.

What we do not promise

A marriage
Or an engagement, or a match, or a particular number of introductions. Nobody can honestly promise any of these, and a service that implies otherwise is selling you something it cannot deliver.
That a match is right
A compatibility score is a suggestion produced from what people have told us. It is a starting point for your own judgement and your family's, never a substitute for it.
That everything anybody says is true
We verify identity, not claims. We cannot confirm what somebody tells you about their job, their family or their intentions, and you should satisfy yourself before making decisions.
Uninterrupted service
We work to keep Aaroos available and occasionally it will not be, for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
That features never change
We will keep improving the service, which means things will change. We will not take away something you have paid for without telling you and putting it right.
08Money

Aaroos has a free tier and paid tiers. The paid ones raise the limits on what you can do rather than unlocking a secret pool of better people.

The tiers
Discovery is free. Gold and Platinum are paid and raise your monthly allowances for things like likes and opening conversations, and add features such as browsing privately. What each tier includes and costs is shown on the membership page before you pay.
Recurring payment
A paid membership renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Payment is taken by Stripe.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time from your membership page. Your tier stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then drops to Discovery. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee.
Price changes
We will tell you before a price change affects you, with enough notice to cancel first if you would rather not continue.
Failed payments
If a renewal fails, Stripe retries it. If it keeps failing your membership ends and your account returns to Discovery. Nothing is deleted.
Allowances
Monthly allowances are counted over a rolling period and do not carry over. Unused allowance is not refundable, because what you bought was the ability to use it.

Your right to cancel, and the exception

Because you are buying a digital service as a consumer, UK law gives you fourteen days to change your mind and get a refund. Aaroos starts working for you the moment you subscribe, and by subscribing you ask us to begin at once, which means you accept that you lose that fourteen-day right once the service has been provided.

That is the legal position, and it is not how we want to treat people. If you subscribed by mistake, or something went wrong, write to admin@aaroos.com and we will deal with it fairly.

If we close your account for breaching these terms, we do not refund the remaining period.

09Enforcement

Rules nobody enforces are decoration. These are the steps we actually take, and what you can do if you think we got it wrong.

What we may do

  • Remove content that breaches these terms.
  • Issue a warning where something looks like a misstep.
  • Suspend an account while we look into a report.
  • Ban an account permanently for a serious breach, or a pattern of smaller ones.
  • Refuse a new account to somebody we have already removed.
  • Report conduct to the police or another authority where somebody may be at risk.

How we decide

A person reviews every report. We look at what was reported, the account’s history, and anything the member has told us. Decisions about suspension and banning are made by our team, not by an automated system.

If we ban an account we tell the member the reason in our own words, rather than closing a door without explanation. A ban can be lifted if we are shown we were wrong.

Reporting somebody

You can report a member from their profile or from a conversation. Tell us what happened plainly. We do not tell the person who reported them. If you are in immediate danger, contact the police first.

If you disagree with us

Write to admin@aaroos.com and ask us to look again. Say what you think we got wrong. A person will read it.

10Liability

This is the chapter every terms page has, and most write so broadly that it means nothing. Here is ours, with the parts we cannot limit stated first.

What we never limit

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

What we are responsible for

Providing the service described on this site with reasonable care and skill, handling your data as set out in our Privacy Policy, and acting on reports.

What we are not responsible for

  • The conduct of other members. We verify identity and we act on reports, and we cannot control how somebody behaves. What happens between members, online or in person, is between them.
  • The truth of what members tell each other. Satisfy yourself before making decisions, particularly decisions about marriage or money.
  • The outcome of an introduction. A match that does not work out is not a failure of the service.
  • Loss we could not reasonably have foreseen, or loss of profit, business or opportunity.

Where we are liable to you, and the law allows a limit, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred pounds.

11Leaving

You can stop using Aaroos at any moment, and there are two ways to do it that mean different things.

Deactivating
A pause. You disappear from matching and from other members' views, and nothing is deleted. Signing back in restores your account as it was. Useful if you are stepping away rather than leaving.
Deleting
The end. Your profile, photos and questionnaire answers are removed. A small record is kept where we need it, which the Privacy Policy explains precisely.
Your paid period
Deleting your account does not refund the rest of a period you have paid for. Cancel first and leave at the end of it if you would rather not lose the time.
Conversations
Messages you sent may remain visible to the person you sent them to, in the same way a letter you posted is theirs. We cannot reach into somebody else's conversation and unsay what was said to them.
If we end it
We may close your account for a breach of these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering it, we will give you notice and refund any paid period you have not used.

Now the rules are clear, the search begins.

A verified profile, a community held to a standard, and one shared intention. That is what you are agreeing to join.
